the sum is S= ½! + 1/3! + ¼! + 1/5! + ….
= (1/0! +  1/1! + ½! + 1/3! + ¼! + 1/5! + ….) – (1+1)
now we know that e= 1/0! +  1/1! + ½! + 1/3! + ¼! + 1/5! + …..
so S= e – 2
