The number of real solutions of the equation (9/10)^x = – 3 +x – x^2 is..Please explain the solution.

we see that  – 3 +x – x^2 = – [(x-1/2)^2+11/4] which is always less than zero. but LHS is (9/10)^x which is always greater than zero, hence no real solution exists
