Foot of perpendicular of a point on x axis always has abacissa  equal to perpendicular distance of point from y axis and ordinate 0.

So that distance is 2.

So coordinate of that point will be (2,0).

 

the point (2 3) indicates that it is at the distance of 3 units from y axis and 2 units x axis perpendiculally so perpendicular distance of point from x axis is always 2 units
