i am giving the apporoach to solve this question 
here we nned to take quadratic equation in b means a as constant.
so that quadratic equation should take ionly positive values.
means its discriminant is less than zero.
then we get relation for a.
so, by calculating the discriminent we get 
a^2-2ab+b^2 - 4+4a+4b
so, here the value will always be greater than 0 and l;ess than 1 . 
try to find out the vcalue of a from that .
