x = 1 +2i
hence
x – 1 = 2i
squaring the both sides
x^2 + 1 – 2x = – 4
hence
x^2 – 2x + 5 = 0
now
divide the given polynomial by ( x^2 – 2x + 5 ) , remainder will be the answer.
