Hi! Hope this answer helps you.

Let x2-x+3k=0 be eq-(i) with roots 2a and b, and x2-x+k=0 be eq-(ii) with roots a and c.
For eq (i):-
Sum of roots=2a+b=1 -----eq(iii)
product of roots=2ab=3k----eq(iv)
For eq (ii):-
Sum of roots=a+c=1-----eq(v)
product of roots=ac=k------eq(vi)

From eq(iv), k=2ab/3
Putting the value of k in eq(vi),we get
ac=2ab/3
=>c=2b/3
Putting value of c in eq(v),we get
a+2b/3=1
=>3a+2b=3------eq(vii)
Solving eq(iii) and eq(vii) simultaneously, we get
a= -1
b=3
Putting value of a and b in eq(iv), we get
k=-2

Ans=k=-2
