ok so first off it is important to note that 2/2!= 1= 1/1!, 12/4!= 12/24= ½= ½!, 120/6!= 120/720= 1/6= 1/3!, 1680/8!= 1680/40320= 1/24= ¼! …. and hands on.
so the series basically is nothing but 1/1! + ½! + 1/3! + ¼! + …..
= (1 + 1/1! + ½! + 1/3! + ¼! + …..) – 1
= (1/0! + 1/1! + ½! + 1/3! + ¼! + …..) – 1
= e – 1
