i also think 1  is correct.may be wrong answer is printed.
cause for x=even,y=x-1,so f inverse =x+1=x+(-1)^x
same for odd

f:N\rightarrowN, f(x) = x + (-1)x+1
If we put x as an element of domain of f(x), we will get an element of range of f(x).
If this value of f(x) is resubstituted as an element of domain of f 1(x), we will get back
the element of domain of f(x).
So if x is even, f(x) = x – 1, which is odd 
Put this odd natural number in f –1(x) = f(x) = x + (-1)x+1 , we get even value of f –1(x)  \because x, here, is odd.
Similarly, vice versa is also true.
So, I think option 2 is the answer.
