Using the quadratic formula,

$x= [G\pm \sqrt{G^2-4(A)(-H)}]/2A$

$x= [G\pm \sqrt{G^2+4AH}]/2A$

$x= [G\pm \sqrt{G^2+4G^2}]/2A$

$x= [G\pm \sqrt{5G^2}]/2A$

$x= [G\pm \sqrt{5}G]/2A$

$x= [G+\sqrt{5}G]/2A$ $or$ $x= [G-\sqrt{5}G]/2A$

As you can see

$x= 1.618\frac{G}{A}$ $or$ $x=-0.618\frac{G}{A}$

So

Both roots are irrational since they involve $\sqrt{5}$ so the roots cannot be an integer or fraction.Thus,

Option “C” is the most nearly correct awnser since the equation has one positive root.

Please correct me if I am wrong somewhere as I am also a Student.Also whats the awnser of the MCQ in your book.
