This is not possible in real number.
 
x can’t be real.
 
But in complex field
 
x^2 + x + 1 = 0
 
hence
 
x = w and w^2
 
now
 
x^99 + 1 / x^99
 
 w^ 99 + (w^2)^99
 
 = 1 + 1
 
 = 2
