If two students one is from general cast and other from schedule caste

Both get equal marks in IIT jee mains examination so how will the rank is decided???????

The candidate who is from Scheduled Caste would be preferred as the marks of the candidates are normalized. Normalization is needed as it makes the exam fair for all candidates. If a scheduled caste gets 20 marks then the General caste candidate gets more than that candidate. So, it could be fair all all.
