If 2x+y+k=0 is a normal to the parabolay^2 =-16x , find k

The gen. eqn of the normal to y^2=-16x is y=mx + 8m + 4m^3 

Compare the cofficients and k can be found. 
As m=2 

The eqn. is y= 2x+ 16 + 32

Therefore, K=48
