i could’nt find the solution please help me
the question is in what ratio must a mixture of 15% of spirit strength be mixed with that of 25% spirit strength to get a mixture of 21% spirit strength?

Let them be mixed in the ratio k:1.
so, we have kx and x as volumes of 1st and 2nd mixtures resp.
now, strength of spirit in this soln would be;
(total amount of spirit present)/(total vol of mixture) * 100%
now, total amount of spirit= 15kx/100 + 25x/100
and total vol of mixture= kx + x
sp that spirit strength= (15kx/100 + 25x/100)/(kx + x) * 100= (15k+25)/(k+1) = 21 (given)
solving this eqn, we get k= 2/3
hence ratio is 2:3
