Dear Student,
Consider four blanks in which no.s 3,4 and 5 will be filled
--- --- --- ---
The first blank can be filled in 2 ways ( either 3 or 4)
The second, third and fourth blanks can be each filled in 3 ways (3,4 or 5)
Therefore no. of numbers greater than 3000 and less than 5000 containing the digits 3,4 and 5 are :
= 2x3x3x3
= 54.
