hello sara, this s an ez ques.
let a= x/y, then expression becomes
E= a^4 + 1/a^4 + 2(a^2+1/a^2) + 3
now let t= a^2+1/a^2 which implies t^2= a^4 + 1/a^4 + 2
so E= t^2+2t+1= (t+1)^2
so, sq root of E is t+1
= a^2+1/a^2 + 1
= x^2/y^2 + y^2/x^2 + 1
