The average value of a functionf(x)on an interval[p,q]is taken to be the height of a rectangle with a base of(q-p)so that the area of that rectangle is the same as the area "under the curve" forf(x)on the same interval

average value can be defined as width of rectangle whose length is equal to interval of the given function and area equal to that of graph in given interval
I have drawn graph of |ex-1| and found are in [-1,1]
area = e-1+e-2
area of rectangle = (average value) * 2
average value = (e-1+e-2)/2
