Dear student

x² + kx +64 = 0

Hence D>= 0

k² >= 256

(k-16) (k +16) > = 0

K belongs to ( - infinity , -16) U ( 16, infinity)

Now

x² - 8x + k =0

64> = 4k

Hence

On combining both the results

K bemongs to ( - infinity , -16)
