∵∠FBF′ = 90
∴ (sqrt(a2e2 + b2))2+(sqrt(a2e2+ b2))2 = (2ae)2
⇒ 2(a2e2+ b2)= 4a2e2
⇒ e2 = b2/a2
Also e2= 1- b2/a2 = 1 – e2
B(0, b)
F′(-ae, 0) O F(ae, 0)
2e2= 1,so e=1/\sqrt{2}
