A buffer solution can be prepared from a mixture of A. Sodium acetate and acetic acid in water B. Sodium acetate and HCl in water C. NH3 and NH4Cl in water D. NH3 and NaOH in water. The answer as given in the book is ABC But I'm confused why B is given the answer. Please explain.

Dear student 
As far as i can understand... The question is  - buffer solution '' can'' be prepared
Sodium acetate and HCl will react and form acetic acid and NaCl
NaCl is SASB salt, it will not affect pH
If HCl is limiting, then the solution contain only acetic acid and Sodium acetate, which is a buffer
