5+√6 = 19 /5 – √6

hence

(5+√6)^x-2 +(5-√6)^x-2=10
=> (19 /5 –√6 )^ x-2 +(5-√6)^x-2=10
let(5-√6)^x-2 = t and you will get a quadratic eqn now solve
