An equation of the type

where a, b, c are constants is called a quadratic equation in the variable x or an equation of the second degree.

In the above equation,

a is the coefficient of x2

b is the coefficient of x and c is the constant term or absolute value fo plynomial

so, here constant is 3,

It can ba a PARABOLa

eqn of parabola which is symmetric abt x=1 can open upawards without touching x-axis or open downwards and since contsnt term is 3:

eqn is ; y  = (x-1)2 + 3   or  y  = -(x-1)2 - 3

with vertex ( 1,3 ) or (1,-3) respectively
