A new flag is to be designed with 6 vertical strips using some or all of the color yellow, green,blue and red. Then the no of ways this can be done such that no 2 adjacent strips have the same color is?

first strip can be can be coloured by 4 ways

2nd  strip can be can be coloured by 3 ways

3rd  strip can be can be coloured by 3 ways

4th  strip can be can be coloured by 3 ways

5th strip can be can be coloured by 3 ways

total ways =4*3*3*3*3=324
