probability that they belong to different institutions =1-probability thatbelong to same institutionno of ways so that they belong to same institutions =5total no of ways = 84probability thatbelong to same institution = 5/84probability that they belong to different institutions =1- 5/84 = 79/84attaching solution(answer would have been different if all three are from different institution in that question no of ways would have been 24 & answer : 24/84 = 2/7)Thanks & RegardsSudhir,askIITians FacultyQualification.IIT Delhi
