Hi Pooja,

 

Draw the graph of cosx.

And also draw the graph of |x| ---------{which is a "V" shaped graph}

 

Clearly the two graphs will intersect in two points, one to the right of the y-axis and the other to the left of the y-axis.

 

So the equation will have two roots.

There are 2 solutions.

 

Try to solve it graphically .. Draw |x| and cosx graphs and check the no. of intersection points ,, it will have 2 intersecting points.

The answer is Two. Pls See the attahed image for explanation.The point of intersections are 0.73 and -0.73
