Question

The Twenty20 World Cup Finals has just ended with India defeating Australia. Each of the 11 Aussie players shakes hand with every indian player. How many shake hands were there after the match? (a)55 (The Given Anser) (b)121 (Answer That I Got) (c)66 This was the question asked in IIT Maths olympiad last year in the 1st level. I am in 9th standard.Please Give The Answer with solution. Which formula to use and when to use? EXPLAIN

Number of players = 11 each team

Each player shakes hands with 11 other players.

so 11 players shake hands each with 11 players.

so total number of shakehands is actually 11*11 = 121 !

i don't think 55 is correct . answer should be 121 , thinking logically.
