in how many ways can clean and clouded (overcast)days occur in a week assuming that an entire day is either clean or clouded

This can be done using fundamental principle of counting

in the first day of the week there are two possibilities clean or clouded corresponding to this 2nd day also two possibility

so the total no of possibility will be= 2*2*2*2*2*2*2=2⁷
