how to solve a linear equation in two variables if only one equation is given

if only one equation is given then there are infinite solutions possible...

eg) 2x+y=5

when  x=0 then y = 5 ,so (0,5) is solution of this eq...

so for different value of x we will have different values of y so infinite solutions are possible of this eq.....
