Dear student....Foramen ovale is a small hole present in foetal heart , it allows blood to enter the left atrium from the right atrium.In most individuals, the foramen ovale closes at birth. It later forms the fossa ovalis.......Foramen ovale is also present at the base of the skull , it transmit nerves through the skull ....With Regards ...Mahima ...( Askiitians forum expert )
