Since displacement is only along Y-axis, only the component of force in y-direction will do the work. The y component of force is given as -kx.

Since particle starts from origin and travels along y-axis, the x- coordinate is also zero and so is the y-compoenent of the force along the whole path. Hence the work done is zero.
