One of the rectangular components of a force of 40 N is 20 N. Find the angle it makes with this component.
So how we know that it is the component along x axis or y axis?

Let this be the x component of the force,

F = 40 N
fx = 20 N

Let the angle between F and fx be Ф

F cosФ = fx
40 cosФ = 20 

cos Ф = 1/2

Ф =  60°
