its not aipmt anymore , its now NEET , stands for national entrance elligibility test , 
its compulsory if u want to admist in any medical courses like MBBS , BDS , BAMS , BHMS , and ayush courses . 
you have to start prepare by 11^th class , 
start your besic concept from class 11^th , and then move to 1 more ref books and solve ques of pmt level
