Perhaps the easiest way is to consider all the particles to be situated on a circular ring of radius R centered on the origin 
from symmetry the CoM cannot be outside the ring. 
for i particle, the CoM will be on the ring ie: = R 
for ii or more particles it will be
...... 
for infinite particles it will be at the origin O ie: = 0 
hence answer is
