Actually there is a differenc between antibodies(Ab) and immunoglobulins(Ig). There are two types of Ig: Ig which is on the outside of a cell, attached to the cell membrane, and Ig which is secreted by the cell into the extracellular environment and floats around. The Ig which is secreted by the cell and floats around is known as antibodies, while the type of Ig attached to the cell membrane is known as sIg (surface immunoglobulin) or mIg(membrane immunoglobulin).
