yes , the monkey will die providing that at the time of firing , monkey was at the same horizontal level as hunter ,. it will happen so , beacuse , as the bullet was fired its downward velocity was 0 , same as the monkey . 
so, both will travel same distance downward and bullet will strike monkey .
