NCERT books act as basic foundation for the preparation of Medical entrance exams. So, never ignore that. One should have a thorough comprehension of the material given in NCERT. However, in addition to NCERT, one is also required to read from other guide books and practice material. Once you are sure that you have prepared well from NCERT, you can jump to guide books, practice test and previous year test papers.
