In my opinion electronics and communication is better.

Computer Science & Engg is the best branch likely @ NIT-Surathkal !
But aas far as the future prospects are concerned i would say that Electronics & Communication Engg has a bright path ahead !!
The Placements are huge in ECE when compared to CSE !!
