well basically  you need to clear basic concepts,for which try to understand that topic in depth 

start from basic problems which involves general calculations which are solely formula based....next go on for conceptual problems....try to focus on analytical reasoning and logic rather than applying concepts blindly by few traitional methods being taught in schools.....give optimum time for problem solving before asking it to your teachers or freinds.....and practice atleast 50 problems per day.....

the whole process takes time but more you will practice the more skills you will gain automatically,, and find yourselves mastering those problems which you never thought before you can!!!

u should first clear ur basic concepts in physics.

ur concepts should be string in order to tackle the problems
