Liquid:

Examples:
a. Water: At room temperature, water exists in the liquid state, and it is essential for life.
b. Ethanol: Ethanol is a common liquid solvent used in various industries and as a fuel.
Gas:

In a gas, particles are widely spaced and have high kinetic energy, allowing them to move freely and independently.
Examples:
a. Oxygen: Oxygen gas is a vital component of the Earth's atmosphere and is essential for breathing.
b. Helium: Helium gas is lighter than air and is commonly used in balloons and airships.
Note that matter can transition between these states through changes in temperature and pressure. The process of changing from one state to another is known as a phase change. For example, when ice (solid) is heated, it melts into water (liquid), and if further heated, it will evaporate into water vapor (gas). Similarly, when water vapor is cooled, it condenses back into liquid water and can further freeze into solid ice.
