We know that solids usually have high density than liquids. But in case of wood it is not so. The density of wood is lesser than water. Why is it so? Is there any other solid like wood which is having less density than water?

even ice has less density than water ,though it is a solid.in case of ice due to difference in the way of bonding and structure of the crystal it has less density than water
