Dear student,

Under the condition they do not form azeotropic solution, Azeotropes are a mixture of at least two different liquids. Their mixture can either have a higher boiling point than either of the components or they can have a lower boiling point. Azeotropes occur when the fraction of the liquids cannot be altered by distillation. They have a constant boiling point like pure compound because the vapour has the same composition as the liquid mixture. Two volatile and miscible liquids can be separated by fractional distillation into pure components under the conditions when they do not form azeotropic mixture.
