Dear student

During chemical reactions, energy is evolved in the form of heat light etc.It is the chemical energy stored up in the reactants which is released. Hence some mass which is extremely small is converted into energy. Therefore the law of conservation of mass will not be strictly valid unless mass and energy are considered together.
