Dear student
Boiling point of a liquid is the temperat, ure when its vapour pressure becomes equal to the atmospheric pressure. When pressure is increased, the vapour pressure of the liquid has to be increased to mathc the external pressure. Therefore, the liquid has to be heated or its boiling point increases.
