Dear Student

The mass of the object = m
Velocity = v
K.E.=1/2mv^2
This is the energy of the object with which the body is moving, hence same amount of energy is required to stop the boby.
∴ Work done on the object in order to bring the object to rest
K.E.=1/2mv^2

Thanks
