Dear student,

To separate calcium carbonate and sodium chloride follow the steps given below:

  • Firstly, water should to be added to the mixture of NaCl and CaCO3.
  • Stir water into the mixture and dissolve the NaCl.
  • Then pour off the solution and evaporate it to recover the separated NaCl.
  • Calcium Carbonate is not soluble in water but Sodium Chloride is.
  • Remove the Calcium Carbonate.
  • You should repeat the process several times to obtain proper results.

This is how, Sodium Chloride and Calcium carbonate can be separated.
