Hi,

The answer is 6.

There are two cases, he decides to go south first or east first.
If he takes south than there are two ways to reach W.
Because he took south first at the next junction he has to take east other wise he wont be able to walk along side the part.

After taking east from junction, there are two ways , one travelling along the long edge of park and other on short. So there are two ways.

In this way you can calculate for the case when he takes east first. Which will result i 4 cases. So 6 is the answer.
