ANSWER

 

The chemical formula of a compound does not represent the state of the molecules of the compound. Thus, H2O represents water molecule which can be in liquid state, solid state or gaseous state. H2O represents combination of 2 hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.
Note: We need to separately indicate the state. Thus, H2O(g) represents gaseous state of water. H2O(l) represents liquid state of water. H2O(s) represents solid state of water.
