Complete step by step solution: What? 1) The first Sultan of Delhi to introduce the art of 'Sijda' was Ghiyasuddin Balban (1266-1287). 2) He began Sijda (prostration) and Paibos as a regular form of the king's salutation. To receive the Sultan, people had to kneel in Sijda and touch the ground with their heads. 3) After Razia, he was the next notable ruler. 4) In the Mamluk dynasty, the ninth sultan was the wazir of Iltutmish 's grandson, Nasir-ud-din-Mahmud. Born of Turkish descent, his original name was Bahauddin. He was bought by Iltutmish as a slave. He went rapidly up the ranks. When & Where? 1) Balban was born, like his master Iltutmish, into the Turkish family of the tribe of Ilbari. 2) In his early youth, he was captured by the Mongols and was sold to a slave trader named Khwaja Jamal-ud-din. 3) He had him taken to Delhi, where Iltutmish had bought him.
