Rayon is obatined from soft wood or from the short fibres of cottonseeds. It is then liquefied and passed through tiny pores in a device called spinnerette, and then converted back to cellulose in the form of fibre. Rayon is called regenerated fibre because during this process, rayon is being regenerated from cellulose fibres.
