ball bearings are used in a wide variety of products and applications. From hard drives to skateboards, ball bearings are designed to handle both thrust and radial loads. However, ball bearings are usually found in applications with smaller loads.
 
Types of Bearing Lubricants. Oil: Both petroleum based and synthetic oils are available. Examples of synthetic oils are silicone, diesters, PAO's, and fluorinated compounds. Bearings lubricated with oil will exhibit less start up and running torque and have higher speed capability.
