One variable term

Total no of pens = 35
Let the value of inexpensive pen = x ( per pen)
And let no of inexpensive pen = n₁
So no of expensive pen = 35 - n₁
Let the value of expensive pen = y
Now according to the question
x_*n₁+ (35 - n1) * y = 60
(given x = 1.5 rs and y = 2 rs)
So put the values of x & y in the above equation
You get n₁= 20
So no of expensive pen = 35 - 20 = 15 Ans.
